Welcome to West Texas Watchdogs, a news service that uses computer programming to gather information from 45 Texas counties. The information is then crafted into articles by student reporters at Texas Tech, who also fact-check the stories to make sure they’re correct for our audience.

Our mission is to make sure that freedom and democracy are protected in West Texas and the Panhandle.

News organizations in the 45-county area are free to republish anything they like. We just ask that student reporters and Watchdogs are given credit.
